All She Wants to Do Is Dance departs from the temporary immobility of a dancer. Due to a respiratory infection in August 2020, dancer/performer Judith Van Oeckel suffers from chronic migraines and, as a result, is no longer able to work full-time as a dancer. With All She Wants to Do Is Dance, she searches for other ways to bring her movements/micro-choreographies before an audience and, of necessity, reflects on movement an sich.
The work is a mix of choreography, performance and visual art that plays with themes of ownership and control and thinks in part about how we can maintain and own non-tangible artistic practices like dance and performance.
