here lies fortune is a performance that takes shape as a soliloquy, where I give visual and physical form to a series of new poems centered around two main elements: lament and the male suit. In this project, I delve into the relationship between lament and grief within our Western system, using the male suit as the ultimate symbol of patriarchal power. Through these motifs, I craft scenes that blend poetry, movement, and visual composition, creating a kind of stream of consciousness.
I envision this work as a preparatory space for a possible ending—or perhaps as a moment of mourning after the end, navigating the many contradictory states between denial and acceptance. Within here lies fortune, I seek an open field that serves both as a burial ground and a space of unearthing, in a pursuit of hope.
