At the bar sits a woman. Maybe she’s only been sitting there for five minutes. Maybe for a few hours. A few days? Weeks? Months? Is she actually sitting there?

Trompe l’Oeil is a visual performance about the regulars’ café: an attractive mirage or just rock-hard reality?

Gina Beuk and Semna Segal know each other from Amsterdam and subsequently studied together at the theater school in Ghent. There they found each other in their love for physical acting and visual theater. At Theaterfestival De Parade in 2022, they created and performed their debut performance De Dwarsliggers. Their work is characterized by something they call concrete absurdism. They like to play with the already known expectations that a location brings with it, and then turn them around. They are therefore very interested in location theater.
