In this solo, the artist formerly known as Bavo Buys becomes their new alter ego: Narcissus. Wild Narcissus is a portrait of someone who, in a godless age, has become their own god. A portrait as a desperate attempt by the 27-year-old Narcissus to freeze their youth and stop time. Their only conversation partner is Echo, an identity-less algorithm that feeds their delusions. In this performance, you follow both in a search for authenticity in a race against the clock.
Wild Narcissus blends plot, documentary, personal confessions, and social media into a critical, neo-mythical, manipulative meta-solo that is at once an indictment of, and a celebration of, an extremely narcissistic society. Wild Narcissus will premiere on 29 May 2026 at VIERNULVIER, and is the first part of Buys’ Dark Personality Trilogy.
