Get to know KAVIR better
While it equals desert in the Farsi language, in Ghent, KAVIR usually stands for a vibrant cocktail between artists and musicians, image and sound, Iran and Belgium. No dry no man’s land, but an artistic melting pot consisting of Middle Eastern and local forms of visual art and experimental music. Once these elements are combined, a whole new, different narrative surfaces, creating layered stories about each culture. KAVIR-members Dietger Vanwynsberghe, Pieter-jan Verheyen, Jonathan Cant and Niloufar Nematollahi not only present their own audiovisual works, they raise the temperatures with an ambient set by the Belgian Human Nature and with a concert by Iran-born Arash Pandi.
