Compagnie Monica / Sarah Bostoen

Performance, dance
Get to know Compagnie Monica better
While bargaining for small human emotions and the never-ending inner quests of the human race, Sarah Bostoen creates dance performances via Compagnie Monica. While small in vulnerability and grotesque in expression, Bostoen urges her fellow dancers to dig on stage until the utmost end of what is humanly possible, both mentally and physically. Inspired by the theatre text 4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane, she reimagines the power(lessness) of our brain. Using an intriguing soundscape and breathing techniques, she almost cracks our soul in Poetic Machine, during which she also invites Esse Vanderbruggen on stage.
