De Zwarte Zuster Fanfare (18:00-00:00)
De Zwarte Zuster Fanfare formally opens the festival with a ceremony. Their moving sound experiment starts at 18h on the street and will later pop up multiple times on various spots scattered around the building.
Pieter Ampe (23:00)
Dancer/choreographer Pieter Ampe is inherently part of a festival about rituals. His bodily performances are almost rituals on their own. Often primitive, wordless and seemingly farcical, but always a little bit uncomfortable. His performance during HOOGTIJ/laagtij is still a mystery, yet has something to do with the following terms: beardy weirdy, calypso, jet set, copacobana and club total.
Nienke Baeckelandt (18:00-00:00)
During HOOGTIJ/laagtij Nienke Baeckelandt lifts her performance ‘SNIP IT’ to metaphysical heights. Ten days long she locks herself in an atelier, armed with paper, scissors and a headphone that conducts the rhythm of her action.
Rutger de Vries (21:00)
The in-situ work of Rutger de Vries gives HOOGTIJ/laagtij a solemn allure. He constructed a splendid ‘paint chandelier’, which he sparks every day at precisely 21h in the entrance hall.
