BREAKFASTCLUB is an intimate meeting with an artistic proposal and with each other. During a meeting at an unusual time with a snack and a drink as a binding factor, other ways of sharing, looking and experiencing become possible. Gouvernement’s concept combines artists’ presentation moments with a moderated conversation on the themes evoked by the works on show.
In the context of Beyond The Black Box, we are presenting two editions with different themes that reflect on this year’s program. BREAKFASTCLUB #10 explores which forms of culture thrive best at night and which cultural expressions are possible during the day. We are familiar with cultural institutions of the daytime, but culture also unfolds at night. Does the night make us dance differently? What happens when a musical form born for the night is experienced during the day?
Stanley Ollivier takes us on an exploration of the boundary between night and day with the dance solo Just a Taste. Moderated by Raziyah Heath, we will then discuss all these questions. Joining the conversation are Florence Parot, co-founder of the collective ISO Amsterdam—which will host a cabaret the following day—and visual artist and scenographer Théo Demans, who designs museum halls and nightclubs with equal enthusiasm.

Stanley Ollivier
Stanley Ollivier is a dancer-performer-choreographer-DJ and radio host from France, originally from Champigny-sur-Marne (94) with Caribbean roots from Guadeloupe and Martinique. They are now since 2016 based in Brussels and working internationally in the performing arts field. Their works usually look into alternative modes of being, dancing, and existing together while questioning notions of normativity and rigidity. Likewise, they are a member of the Ballroom Scene, and a DJ under the name of STANLEY, co-founding the broadcast show Entwined in residency at Kiosk Radio to promote emergent artists.
Note about the performance:
Just a Taste is a small mixtape, a compilation of choreographical and performative scene accompanied by electronic music and RP Boo footwork sounds.. The textural dance solo is a rough but pleasant state of exaltation, a puzzle of emotions leading to its own excess, oscillating into rage to find a lively enthusiasm.
Raziyah Heath
Raziyah Heath is an independent curator (a.o at Metro54), programmer, curious cat, hater, organizer, killjoy, lover, DJ and artist. At the moment she mainly delves into sonic realms/dimensions, and uses DJing under the name Chinnamasta as a medium for research and discoveries.
Their work and research mainly delves into different methodologies of being, through sound, soundsystem culture and her Afro/Indo Caribbean heritage and aims to uncover the cross pollinations of Afro-diasporic (sub)cultures and sonic threads and centralizes the variations, range and intersectionality of lived experiences as a result of this.
Théo Demans (touche–touche)
Theo Demans (they/them) is making sculptures and scenografies. Théo’s work revolves around transforming intangible practices into tactile, immersive experiences. Théo creates contemporary ritualistic environments that invite active audience participation, fostering moments of togetherness and collective bond. Théo is involved in various co-creations with artists, such as the duo touche-touche with Carolin Gieszner, as well as curatorial endeavors. Alongside Melanie Bonajo, they represented the Dutch pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale of Art.
Florence Parot (ISO Amsterdam)
Florence Parot is a Parisian curator based in Amsterdam. She trained at the Musée National d’Art Moderne, Centre Pompidou, where she worked as an associate curator for the time-based art collection for forteen years. In 2018, she co-founded ISO Amsterdam with Dajo Bodisco, a collaborative workspace housing forty ateliers and hosting a public program focused on live performances, titled The Live Art Series. She is also the co-director of the Dirty Art Department, the Master’s program in Art and Design at the Sandberg Instituut.
