Joost Pauwaert makes sculptural work and kinetic installations. His dramatic staging of violence, destruction and transiency provokes a weird attraction for the viewer. Why are we so hypnotised and why are we so attracted by destruction? For Night Shift, Pauwaert plays with the bare destruction of the feast in the night. Everything on the dining table, from tableware to glassware, will be broken to pieces for only shards and wreckages to remain.
