THRSHLDS is een collectief van multidisciplinaire kunstenaars dat zich richt op het produceren van locatiegebonden performances en artistieke interventies die de wisselwerking tussen architectuur, geluid en cultuur onderzoeken. Onze performances vinden plaats in geselecteerde ruimtes en structuren, verlaten, verwaarloosd of nog steeds operationeel, die een historische, sociale, artistieke of culturele betekenis hebben.
Ons pilotproject voor THRSHLDS is “The Dome Sessions”. Dankzij financiering van AFAC zijn we van plan om Libanese hedendaagse kunstenaars uit te nodigen om samen te werken en op te treden in de koepel. Deze optredens zullen worden opgenomen en gefilmd en zullen dienen als de belangrijkste componenten om ons doorlopende project te promoten om verlaten ruimtes in het hele land opnieuw te gebruiken en ze om te toveren tot podiums.
Tijdens zijn residentie zal Firas El Hallak werken aan de montage van de film.
THRSHLDS is a collective of multidisciplinary artists who aim to produce site-specific performances and artistic interventions that explore the interplay between architecture, sound, and culture. Our performances take place in selected spaces and structures, be it abandoned, derelict, or still operational, that bear historic, social, artistic, or cultural significance.
Our pilot project for THRSHLDS is “The Dome Sessions.” Thanks to funding from AFAC, we plan to invite Lebanese contemporary artists to collaborate and perform at the dome. These performances will be recorded and filmed and will serve as the main components to promote our ongoing project of repurposing abandoned spaces around the country and turning them into performance venues.
During his residency Firas El Hallak will work on the montage of the film.
