Ever wondered what search results you’d have if you ever looked for fitting synonyms for Ruben Mardulier and Michiel Deprez? We’re just giving away a few hints: anecdotic circus, performative experiments and post-internet remnants. That aside, they eagerly and publicly flirt with quirky combinations of various artistic media and disciplines. Without the extra bling or rehearsals, these two always serve you a mixed platter of a first draft, idea or study. On the bright side: you’ll always witness a premier. Oord #spelen does exactly that: a public trial run by Mardulier en Deprez, now accompanied by Femke Arnouts; a series of short, individual and confronting plays substantially shaped by the spectator. Night Shift: from dusk till dawn, 04.05.2019 at De Studio

With their joint alias, Ruben Mardulier and Michiel Deprez mix together anecdotic circus, performative experiments and post-internet remnants. Guided by the surroundings, their interests and imagination, they instigate a dialogue corresponding to those inspirations and the spark between themselves. It’s an artistic process providing tumultuous approaches which they can incorporate in exhibitions, performances, prose… or in short: inventive crossovers. Prior to their act for Night Shift, they move their atelier to the unique De Studio-building for one week to open up for all kinds of inspirations. We don’t know what direction their residency will take, but one thing’s certain: we’re already very excited.
