PRELIMINARY ATTEMPTS – Trying to break out of a straitjacket

In Western society we are at all times focused on ‘arriving’. What if we never ‘arrive’ ?

While watching her father die, Naomi experienced an intense awareness, a kind of ‘hyper concentrated form of consciousness’. This made her think more, on how to learn to embrace a certain kind of ‘slowness’. While reconnecting with her very first artistic language, which is dance, Naomi’s research will focus on honoring – each moment, each step, each movement – rather than devaluing it because we think we must always “arrive” (somewhere)…

“In existential mathematics the degree of slowness is directly proportional to the intensity of memory; the degree of speed is directly proportional to the intensity of forgetting.” (Milan Kundera)
