Oona Libens

Performative installation
Get to know Oona better

Half-Belgian, half-Swedish artist Oona Libens makes performances that not only generate an idiosyncratic and naive form of science, but also establish a slow, fragile and analogue technology. The third part of her poetic-scientific series is Soma. After closely inquiring the universe and the sea, Libens zooms in on the human body; a world both familiar and unknown. This humoristic lecture finds itself caught between an educative documentary and abstract animation film. Using shadow play and primitive methods for projection, bodily functions are explicated and vividly illustrated: from the bacterial flora to the ungraspable psyche.
